Flexibility & the spine

Classed taught and designed by Sophia Andelight - 14th October 2023

let's rise and shine together. We'll start our day with a burst of kundalini essence, setting the tone for a relaxing and joyful weekend. Flexibility and the Spine is a popular energizing Kundalini Yoga set that can be enjoyed by practitioners of all levels, even if requires a moderate degree of flexibility and coordination, and it is great to eject residual poisons and drugs from the muscle tissue. This set can be done as every morning routine if you want to try to adjusts your spine embodying deeply the transformation.
The practice includes both forward and back bends. The set also includes Sat Kriya (completed action) which balances the navel, strengthens the nerves and elevates your energy. The practice concludes with a 3-minute calming and cooling pranayam (breath exercise) for stress reduction as well as 3 minutes of chanting "GURU GURU WAHE GURU GURU RAM DAS GURU". In Kundalini Yoga it is often said that age is measured by the flexibility of the spine: to stay young, stay flexible. This series works systematically from the base of the spine to the top. All 26 vertebrae receive stimulation and all the chakras receive a burst of energy. This makes it a good series to do before meditation. Many people report greater mental clarity after regular practice of this kriya. A contributing factor may be the increased circulation of the spinal fluid, which is crucially linked to having a good memory. The practice will help you to leave your world behind and take yourself to a place of physical and mental elevation and relaxation.

Sophia Andelight

Hello, my name is Sophia. I am originally from Italy and have been living happily in London for many years.

My journey with yoga began in 2001 when I first practiced Kundalini yoga at a location in Northern Italy. It was a time when I needed to deeply reconnect with myself to overcome a challenging period in my life. Since then, I have explored and enjoyed various styles of yoga, integrating the practice into my daily life. It was in London where I rediscovered Kundalini yoga and embarked on the path of becoming a KRI Kundalini yoga teacher.

During the pandemic, for a couple of years, I organized online practice groups through meetup with friends and like-minded individuals. This experience of togetherness and synchronicity of souls inspired the creation of PURPLE PRANA.

I have a passion for sunshine, love, quantum physics, morphogenetics, alternative medicine, Taoism, and integral theory. While I may not be a food enthusiast, I strive to follow a functional medicine diet, with the exception for ice cream.
My inner mission is to expand into the aura and connect with the world around me. My outer challenge is to create a community for belonging to a bigger holon.
